Victorian Ash and Tasmanian Oak are commercial names applied to what is predominantly eucalyptus regnans. This hardwood of Victorian and Tasmanian regions soars to stately heights of 60 metres plus and is Australia’s tallest hardwood. Whilst its durability rating is not high at Class 3 above ground, it is used extensively for internal fitout product such as lining board, flooring, staircase and furniture. To maintain stability, this timber is quarter sawn making its growth lines easily visible.
