If you’re looking for a cost-effective approach to timber features you might consider using Hemlock. A somewhat pale softwood ideal for staining and coating. If, on the other hand, you are looking for a darker hardwood solution you might consider Ironbark; this tree often has a deep reddish-brown tone to it and is renowned for its durability and weather resistance.
