- Deep dark red to red-brown in appearance. Its sapwood is a distinctive pale yellow in colour.
- Texture is fine and even with interlocked grain.
- Extremely hardwearing.
- High strength rating.
- Highly durable.
- Medium shrinkage.
- Marine borer resistant.
- Janka (or hardness) of 12-14.
- Fire resistance: BAL 12.5, 19 – All AS3959 applications.
- Seasoned density level of 1160 kg/m3
