The name Ironbark, encapsulates all the inherent features of a timber with incredible strength and durability. Sourced mainly from Queensland, Red and Grey Ironbark are ideal for structural beams, fencing, cladding, floorings and deckings.

Red and Grey Ironbark have a fine, even texture with an interlocked grain. From a deep dark red heartwood to red-brown, it is easily identifiable with a pale-yellow sapwood.

  • Very high strength.
  • Seasoned density level of 1210 kg/m3
  • Highly durable.
  • Fire resistance: BAL 12.5, 19 and 29 – All AS3959 applications
  • Reddish to dark brown appearance. The sapwood is lighter in colour.
  • Tight and straight grain.
  • Found in NSW and QLD.

  • Deep dark red to red-brown in appearance. Its sapwood is a distinctive pale yellow in colour.
  • Texture is fine and even with interlocked grain.
  • Extremely hardwearing.
  • High strength rating.
  • Highly durable.
  • Medium shrinkage.
  • Marine borer resistant.
  • Janka (or hardness) of 12-14.
  • Fire resistance: BAL 12.5, 19 – All AS3959 applications.
  • Seasoned density level of 1160 kg/m3
